How can I influence the PDF Export using Tags to Rotate a Page in the PDF Export for example?
PDF Structure Tags
In Yonder there are “PDF Structure Tags” which can be used to make formatting changes to a PDF Export.
These are:
- PDF Page Break - creates a page break before the module that is tagged.
- Local TOC - Creates a Tree based Table of contents (TOC) in the PDF Export before the tree tagged. All modules in the tree to be shown in the TOC must be tagged
- Rotate Content - This will rotate only the content in the PDF Export, the header and footer will remain at the top and bottom of the portrait page
- Rotate Page - This tag will rotate the whole page so that the header and footer are also shown in landscape
-
Small Font Size in Tables - characters in any tables in the module will be shown in a small font size for easier reading
In order to assign the TAG to the module you wish to implement one of the above actions it is necessary to navigate to the “TAGS” tab of the document in Yonder:
As can be seen above when in the edit mode of the view tick boxes are available to assign a PDF Structure Tag to the module where you wish to implement it.
PDF Page Break
For example, to add a Page Break between 1.1 Tables and 1.2 Links to be implemented in the PDF Export, all that is required is to tick the tick box “PDF Page Break” for the module 1.1 Tables:
Don't forget to save your change by clicking the “Save” button.
Rotating Content, Small Font Size in Tables and Rotate Page
The same principle can be applied for the other PDF Export formatting you wish to implement, Rotating Content, Small Font Size in Tables or Rotate Page.
Local TOC Tag
For the creation of a Local Table of Contents in the PDF, for a chapter, use the “Local TOC” tag. In this case it is neccessary to tick all those tick boxes of the modules you wish to be included in the TOC. In this example we wish to have a TOC shown in Chapter 1 Basic Editing Features. We need to tick the tick boxes as shown below:
The PDF Export will then show the TOC as below:
The TOC is clickable and will take the user directly to the relevant content.
