Release Notes for the Yonder iOS App NG, the Offline Reader on iOS devices

iOS App NG Release 1.6.0

Release Date: November 21st, 2024 
This release has been tested on the latest iOS Version iOS 18.0.1 / 18.2 Beta 2

Documents

  • The document outline is now enhanced and color-coded: titles containing content appear in blue, while purely structural titles are displayed in black. For details consult the knowledge base HERE
  • Compact mode screen flows have been enhanced for smoother navigation in the document outline on iPhone and the iPad compact mode.

  • When switching between apps and switching back to Yonder, the document was not opened at the same place as before the switch. That has been fixed.

Memos

  • Memos are now appearing in the document list. The “Memo” side bar entry has been removed.

Documents

  • In some cases when changing font size the text of modules was cut off. That has been fixed.
  • The behavior of table headers when switching to night mode has been reworked.
  • Editorial information (dynamic content) was displayed in the App. That has been removed.
  • Challenge & Response checklists are now correctly displayed in night mode.

Favorites

  • Favorites on chapters now open the chapter directly.

Split View

  • Using Split View and toggling the screen ratio has been reworked.

Synchronization

  • The error message, when manually pausing syncronization has been improved.

 

 

iOS App NG Release 1.5.2

Release Date: July 26nd, 2024 

Favorites

  • In some cases the user favorites were not properly synced between the iOS App and the web client. That has been fixed.

Highlights and Notes

  • Highlights and Notes created on a “Challenge and Response Item” were not showing the designated color of the highlight. That has been adjusted.

Notifications

  • When opening a document from the dashboard, the document now opens again with the notification panel on the left.

  • The issue where you couldn't access entries from the side bar such as 'Highlights' or ‘App Preferences’ on the iPhone has been resolved.

Favorites

  • Drag and drop for Favorites: Now you can sort your Favourites per drag and drop in the second column thanks to the complete overhaul.

  • Recents Revamp: your Recents are now listed in the second column with the latest items on top, keeping your 10 most recent items at hand.

Named multiple app instances:

  • App thumbnails in the window shelf now show what content is open, making it easier to navigate between them.

General

  • The icons used (e.g. for memos) have been aligned with the web version, the Windows and also the Android App.

Synchronization

  • The error message (e.g. when missing internet connectivity) has been improved and extended.

Links

  • In some cases when navigating in a document, the links did not point to the correct place. That has been fixed.

Documents

  • From now on, released documents, which are applicable in the future are shown in the iOS App.  
  • In some cases a module was not correctly displayed or the text / image was cut-off at the bottom of a module. That has been fixed.

Notifications

  • To the right of Notifications in the primary sidebar, an orange bubble indicates open tasks. When you select Notifications, the counter updates to display the number of tasks still open.

Highlights & Notes

  • Highlights which were set at the end of a very large module could not be correctly transferred. That has been fixed.

  • The sync has been improved
    • new error messages have been created
    • an object count has been added
    • the sync can now be initiated via swipe down of the primary column.

Documents

  • In some cases pictures within a document were not displayed correctly. That has been fixed.
  • From now on the iPad settings 12h and 24h are supported.
  • A scroll bar in the content flow has been implemented.
  • When rotating from landscape to portrait mode the outline icon was not shown. That has been fixed.

App Preferences

  • Preferences have been added in the primary side bar.

Favorites

  • On the document outline, a grayed out star is now displayed if the module is marked as a favorite.

 

iOS App NG Release 1.4.0

Release Date: April 4th, 2024 

Pinch & Zoom

  •  A new feature “Pinch & Zoom” has been implemented.

Search

  • In some cases. when selecting a search hit in a larger module, the search did not set the correct focus on the exact position within the content. That has been adjusted.
  • The search result did not always match the content of the current revision of the document but the draft document. That has been fixed. 

Library

  • The orange notification indicator now shows directly the correct number without clicking on it.

Documents

  • In some cases pictures within a document were not displayed when first opening the module. That has been fixed.
  • When switching between apps the Yonder App was returning to the dashboard view. Now the App returns to the last place in the document being viewed.
  • Modules with embedded .xlsm files were not properly displayed on the iOS App. That has been fixed.
  • Subfolders and their assigned documents are now correctly shown. 

 

iOS App NG Release 1.3.2

Release Date: February 29, 2024 

Highlights & Notes

  • The manual transfer of Highlights & Notes has been enabled.

  • When creating or deleting Highlights & Notes the app was jumping to the top of the content flow. That has been adjusted.

Documents

  • In some cases pictures were not displayed in the module but in the differ view. That has been fixed.
  • The placement of content with subchapters has been reworked.
  • The display of table headers has been adjusted.
  • The app crashed sometimes when navigating between split view windows or opening a favorite folder. That has been fixed. 
  • The differ now displays changes in tables with red/green independent of the background color of the cell.

Search

  • The focus in the view port did not exactly show the search hit when selecting a search hit in a larger module. That has been adjusted.

Others

  • Compact mode (iPhone)
    • A scrollbar in the content flow view has been added.
    • The toggle font size has been worked on.

 

iOS App NG Release 1.3.1

Release Date: January 25, 2024 

Folders

  • With the new release only folders with content (documents or files) are shown to the user.

Tasks

  • When opening a task from the dashboard the app now changes into the related document and module. The corresponding task is now automatically pre-selected in the list. 
  • Some tasks could be marked done multiple times. That has been fixed.
  • The text in the filter options of the Tasks has been updated.
  • The task numbering in the offline task handling has been reworked. 

Documents

  • In some cases pictures were not properly displayed. That has been fixed.
  • When navigating through a document the outline was not constantly displayed. That has been adjusted.

Files

  • png files which were uploaded as file were not visible in the app. That has been adjusted.

 

iOS App NG Release 1.3.0

Files / Document Integration

Please do not yet install this new version. 

The feature will not yet be enabled on your Yonder tenant. For this feature a migration is necessary. We will coordinate the migration and inform you individually.

  • With the Release 1.3.0 we are introducing a completely new feature, the integration of Files and Documents into a single tab in the Library.

iOS App NG Release 1.2.2

Release Date: December 7, 2023 

Documents

  • In some cases the document was not properly displayed, when opening the document while the sync was still running.
  • Documents which were opened before the preview was loaded were in some cases not properly displayed. This has been reworked.
  • The document preview was showing a wrong document if a linked document was opened before. That has been fixed.
  • When opening a document the app now shows / hides the outline, depending on the last state when using the iOS App NG.

Filter

  • Role-bound tags from the relevant tag domain are always shown, even if not set on any module. This has been reworked. 

Tags

  • When removing or adding a tag in the filter within a document, the focus will not jump to the beginning of the document anymore.

Search

  • The search function now includes the search hits for titles.
  • When searching on a global level and applying a filter, the search results now show only the results corresponding to the selected filter.

Links

  • In some cases links were pointing to outdated versions. This has been fixed.

Tasks

  • In some cases tasks were shown as open, although they were done. This has been fixed.
  • The task numbering has been reworked.

 

iOS App NG Release 1.2.1

  • Improvements of the sync.

  • When creating a new user, the role settings are now available in the iOS NG App without a reset of the roles in the Web.

 

iOS App NG Release 1.2.0

Forms

  • The new feature Forms is now supported by the iOS App NG.
    • Your form submissions and drafts are visible in the Library under “Form Responses”.
    • When selecting a form, the form opens similar to a document. An open form can be edited and submitted.
    • The latest form is always displayed on top of the list.

Highlights & Notes

  • When a document containing highlights is revised, the highlights are now ported to the new version of the document.

Compact Mode

  • When opening a document in compact mode (iPhone), in some cases the app crashed. This has been fixed.

iOS App NG Release 1.0.9

Release Date: 09/08/23 

The app needs to be re-installed to enable all following updates. Only updating the app is not sufficient!

IMPORTANT: Please ensure that your company network allowlist contains the correct entries. For a list of necessary entries, please contact your Account Manager.

Tasks & Notifications

  • The task numbering and the notification are updated once a task has been marked as done.
  • Filters for My Tasks (in the Notification Card) are now available.
  • Tasks are now sorted according to the document outline in the dashboard.

File Drop

  • Opening a file in file drop now works, even if a filter has been selected.
  • Memos have been adjusted to fit the compact mode ensuring better readability.

Others

  • Opening a pdf from a link is now enabled.
  • When clicking on a search result in the search list, the corresponding search hit is opened in the document.
  • When opening a document and clicking on a link that leads to another document, tasks and changes icons for the current open document are displayed.
  • Tables are displayed correctly.
  • Opening a favorite the focus is on the correct chapter hierarchy.
  • In some cases opening a document opened again the previous one. That has been changed.
  • When applying a filter in the documents list, the preview remains available. If no document is available the first document from the filtered list is preselected and in preview.
  • The reset of a filter in the document list sets the settings back to its default values (the default user roles).
  • Compact mode (for iPhone): Controls in the kebab menu have been updated.

Tasks & Notifications

  • Additional filter criteria for tasks are added (All, Read, Read & Acknowledge).
  • In the notification tile the “visible from” date was displayed instead of the “effective from” date. This has been fixed.
  • When the notifications were completed without internet connection, they were marked as done and the indication of the notification tile was not adjusted. This has been fixed.
  • The sort oder of the tasks in the dashboard has been adjusted.

Files

  • Files which are not effective are now filtered out.
  • The applied filter on the files-list is now persisted.

Favorites

  • The name of a folder for favorites can now be edited.

Diffing view

  • The diffing view for 2 module versions has been updated.
  • The change summary is shown.

Others

  • When navigating to a document on level 5 (e.g. 1.2.3.4.5) it jumped to level 3 (e.g. 1.2.3) in the outline when reopening the document. This has been fixed.
  • When a document was opened from a link the back button was missing. This has been fixed.
  • Role settings are persisted on the app (independent from manual adjustments in Web). 
    Note: resetting the roles will set them back to the user default settings.
  • The number of changes in the iOS App now matches the Yonder Online Reader. 
  • Links in the list of changes did not work. This has been fixed.
  • In the Document “Changes” tab the filter list was blank for automatically created changes. It now shows ‘No classification’.
 

 

iOS App NG Release 1.0.7

Release Date: 06/07/23 

Files

  • Files having the mandatory tag assigned will now be filtered accordingly.
  • Files are now filtered based on the selected tags.

Mobile Data

  • Toggle switch to enable/disable mobile data usage on iPad with a cellular module. See help article  for details.

 

iOS App NG Release 1.0.6

Release Date: 02/06/23 

 

Search

  • The search has beed further improved. Now partial words e.g. as “informa” will return search results as e.g. “information”.

  • Lists which are scrollable now all show a scrollbar. E.g. a scrollbar has been added to the sidebar for notifications and favorites.
  • PDF embedded in documents can now be opened.

Tags

  • Mandatory tag filtering has been reworked.

  • Opening a favorite now opens the currently effective version of the document.

General

  • Authentication: a periodical check to authenticate again when offline has been removed. Now the user can work without interruption when in offline mode.
  • A link to the Yonder Knowledge base has been added under “settings”. The new content related to the iOS App will now step by step be added to the Knowledge base.
  • Some visual improvements.
     

 

iOS App NG Release 1.0.5

The Release 1.0.5 includes a number of general improvements and bug fixes. The remaining features or features which do not yet show the same feature depths as the classic (old) Yonder App will be delivered soon. This includes e. g. Highlights & Notes.

Tags

  • Mandatory tag filtering and role filtering is now applied.
  • After a sync the user tags are not reset anymore.

Search

  • The search function has been updated and includes exact, proximity and stemming search.
    • The exact search allows to find search results for exactly the entered term:
      • put the search term in apostrophe or quotes  eg. ‘carrier’ or “carrier”
    • Proximity (nearby) search finds results with multiple words that are not adjacent to each other:
      • put a ‘&’ or ‘ & ’ (with spaces) between the two search terms (eg. fan & bleed or fan&bleed) in order to get results with both words
      • a maximum of 10 words in-between the 2 search terms is allowed to qualify as a search hit
  • Stemmed search
    • the search logic will stemm certain word so that search hits are found for eg. plurals
    • for the search term ‘airports’ the search hit ‘airport’ is found as well
  • The search does not show results from outdated or obsolete revisions.
  • In some cases the search tile showed too much information, this has been adjusted.

Open points are chapter numbers in search results and truncated words.

Tasks

  • When tasks are done, they are now moved to the done section. In case another task is left, the task is automatically displayed. 

Filter

  • You can filter the list of changes related to a document by type of change (depending on the customer specific changes as e.g. “major”, "editorial"). 

Favorites

  • A document can now be marked as a favorite when opening form the search results.

Tags

  • Standard user tags: 
    • If the user has tags assigned from the user settings, the “blue bubble” will be displayed only if the user will make a change which affect the user tags. E.g. if the user deselects one of the tags from the user settings or select additional tags which are not coming from the user settings.
    • If the user has no tags assigned from the user settings, the “blue bubble” will be displayed with any change the user does regarding the tag selection.
    • Resetting the tags will reset to the user's default tag setting.

Tasks

  • Tasks can be opened from the task sidebar in the document version.
  • The list of pending tasks can now be filtered.

General

  • When selecting the font size the font size is applied to the whole content now.
  • When the module has a change a Change Bar is now shown.

  • Document list is reloaded after sync
  • Focus of module stays the same when switching between Day/Night mode
  • IQSMS documents are not shown anymore in the App when he user does not have the respective role

iOS App NG Release 1.0.2

Release Date: 16/03/23

 

The first official version of the new Yonder iOS App NG has been released. 

This native iOS App includes most of the features from our old Yonder iOS App.

Please note that the following features are not yet available / not yet complete 

  • highlights & notes from the document preview
  • changes & tasks
  •  are read only for the mobile version on this release, that means they are downloaded from the Yonder server

Some features do not yet have the same feature depths as the old iOS App.
