Revisions vs. Change Requests
The Documents tab of the admin interface allows users to create new documents or edit existing documents via the Content Manager.
While new documents are always created via the Documents tab however, both change requests, their implementation and approvals are executed via the Reader Online. Or in other words: The evolution of a given document is actually mostly driven by actions taken in the Yonder Reader Online.
Generally, users should keep the following distinction in mind, as explained in the following sub-chapters.
Initial Approval of a New Document
The initial approval of a document is triggered via the Content Manager. Once triggered, the relevant stakeholders are asked to approve (or reject) the initial approval of a document via the Yonder Reader Online.
After the approval, the document becomes visible to the appropriate user groups.
For more information on this topic, please refer to the dedicated article on document revisions and approval requests.
Open New Document Revision
A new document revision triggered via the Content Manager. Once triggered, all change requests - including their approval and implementation - are executed via the Yonder Reader Online.
For more information on opening a new document revision, please refer to the dedicated article on document revisions and approval requests.
For more information on issuing change requests and related approval procedures, please refer to this article: Issue / Approve Change Requests
Close Document Revision
The document revision as a whole is closed via the Content Manager.
For more information on closing a document revision, please refer to the dedicated article on document revisions and approval requests.
