How long does it take until the change in a Re-use Content Module is also made in the Re-use Content shown in the Document re-using the content?
Any changes made to Reuse Content (RC) will be available after a new revision of the mother document has been undertaken, closed and the document is released. (Effectivitiy Date???)
The RC can be updated in the Admin Console Document view by users who have the following Roles:
- update_rc: >This role allows users to update Reuse Content without having to open a new revision of the document where the (Child) Reuse Content it being shown
- wf_freeedit: This role allows the User to access the “Update RCs” button on a document level and can be a document level work flow role.
- Edit_released: To allow access to the “Edit” button if the document is released.
With the roles above the User can navigate to the document where the RC should be updated and Click on the "Edit" button:
The “Update RCs” button will then be available:
Clicking the “Update RCs” button will then show the following message, where you can select the “effectivity date” of the “Home” document to be used for the update of the Reuse Content:
On clicking the “Update” button in the pop up window, the following screen will be shown:
Once the Reuse Content has been updated, a confirmation message will be shown:
Now click on the blue “OK” button to clear the message and return to the Admin Console Document view:
The Reused Content (RC) which is updated in the “mother” document, is displayed with an orange change bar in the document where it is reused. When opening the module, it is marked “invalid” in orange as well.
The RC can be easily updated in the backend (free edit – “update RCs” button) with one click for all RCs.
This is how the module which has been changed in the home document looks like in the document where it is reused (orange change bar):
