Which types of images can be uploaded?
Types of Image Files you can upload
It is possible to upload the following types of image files:
- .jpeg
- .png
- .svg
Screenshots should be avoided. Unless they create the file types above.
Please be aware of the size of your images, both viewing (difficult to read) and data sizes (large file sizes can slow down loading times markedly).
Although the example below is implemented in the Admin Console area, the process applies also to editing undertaken in the “Edit” window of a Change Request (CR).
Uploading an image
To upload an image, you need to place the cursor in the location in the information module where you wish to place the image.
Then using the “Image” icon in the editing menu, you can select the image to upload:
Upon clicking the icon, a pop up window will be displayed and this will allow you to choose the image you wish to upload into the module:
It is possible to either “Drag and Drop” an image or to click on the text in the pop up and then select an image:
Image Menu
Once the image has been uploaded to the information module, if the image is clicked with the left mouse button, a small menu will be shown:
This menu allows the Editor to undertake the following:
Menu Icon 1 (left to right) - Place the image in text either “Inline” with text or to locate it with a “Break Text” setting.
Menu Icon 2 (left to right) - This icon allows the Editor to set the relative size of the image to be viewed in the module in percentage terms (%), and also to add a border around the image.
Menu Icon 3 (left to right) - This icon allows for the image to be placed on the right-side, center or left-side of the information module
Above, the image is now centered in the information module.
Menu Icon 4 (left to right) - This icon can be used to replace the image with new one if required.
On clicking the icon with the left mouse button, a “Drop image” window appears to allow the selection of a new image to replace the current one.
Menu Icon 5 (left to right) - This icon allows the Editor to remove the image from the information module.
Once clicked, the image is removed from the information module.
