Document - Links
Explore the power of incorporating hyperlinks in your documents to enhance compliance.
Overview
Links allow you to create meaningful connections between pieces of information — keeping your content consistent and easy to navigate.
In Yonder, you can create:
Internal links — connect sections or modules within the same document.
Cross-document links — connect content between different documents or manuals.
External links — reference outside resources using a URL.
These links help maintain traceability, improve content reuse, and ensure users always have quick access to related information — no matter where it lives.
Links can be accessed in the module detail view:

Document Link Creation
The new Create Links Screen allows you to create and manage links between documents and modules more efficiently. It provides a clear step-by-step flow for selecting link types, defining link details, and verifying link targets — all in one place.

Create a Link
1. Select Link Type (Dropdown)
Displays all available link types configured for your tenant.
If only one link type is configured → it is automatically pre-selected.
If multiple link types are configured → no pre-selection is made; you must choose manually.

2. Enter Link Description (optional)
You can optionally provide a description for the link.
The link description field is not mandatory.
3. Link Targets (Multi-Step Selection)
Step 1: Select the Document
Choose the document that contains the desired link target.

You can select either active documents or IQSMS documents.
The list includes draft documents as well.
The blue floating access button (FAB) includes a search field allows you to find documents by name, including drafts.
Step 2: Select the Module(s)
After selecting the document, choose one or more modules as link targets.

- Multiple modules can be selected to create several links in one go.
- A click on the module title will display a preview of the content.
Click CREATE to generate the link.
A confirmation message will appear — after selecting OK, the link will be saved and displayed in the Links tab for both the source and the target.

Adding Links Across Multiple Manuals
If you need to add link targets from two different manuals, the Create New Links screen allows you to start a second linking flow directly, without closing or restarting the process.
Possible Reasons a Link May Be Invalid
- The document was archived, deleted, or terminated/expired
- The revision was hidden
- The module has no valid version (e.g., deleted through a Change Request)
- The user lacks mandatory tag roles
- The user has no permission to view drafts or previous versions
Special Case: Draft-Only Modules
If a module only has a draft version, that draft will now be displayed when the link is opened — ensuring that links remain functional even when no published version exists.
